I can't say enough about the Utah PVA for welcoming me to present at their monthly meeting. Special thanks go out to Spencer Hale for first approaching me, Chris McClain for picking me up at the airport, and David and Danielle Perry for putting me up in their house and feeding me exquisitely the entire time. They even sent me back with homemade muffins to keep me from having to buy expensive airport food! I had a blast learning about LDS Temple weddings, getting to tagalong with David for a few pre-shoots, as well as an actual wedding, the ceremony of which no filming is allowed. Lots of new friends made - CEA winning Davey Orgill from Pointe Digital, Dathan Hight, Kale Fitch, Bruce Smith, and Linda Sorensen. It was also good to meet for the first time MPV Mike Nelson, who knows a thing or two about running a business, having operated Remember When Films for 25+ years now. He had some great 'war' stories, and along with David Perry, really emphasized to me how our sales are all about finding a connection and providing a value to clients. Special thanks to Nate Pickett, well, for being Nate Pickett. It's encouraging to know there are so many talented shooters out there gathering in the PVA's, strengthening one another and opening doors for us as businesses to book work in other towns. If you are in the greater Salt Lake area, you need to join up just for the networking alone...and stick around for the education you will receive! If you ever have a topic upon which you want to present, I highly recommend you fly out to Salt Lake City to be with this wonderful crowd!
