I know you won't believe it, but I've always felt that way. In fact to show my appreciation to all the help I've gotten on VU I'm going to write a book about how to succeed in wedding videos without really trying. I'd like you to write the Forward. Wink

This will be a good book, and we'll sell lots of copies as long as we can keep that guy with the blog from reviewing it. Wink

we are booked ahead of the planner almost all the time. but it is essential that we recognize their role as an important marketer of good video to future brides. these are people who speak with the most to couples.

markets may be different but here, 99% percent of the weddings we do hire planners/coordinators.

perhaps what I'm getting at is that videographers need to maintain good relations with suppliers (photogs, coords, caterers etc), it's good marketing to be nice to other people, these people will create buzz for you and your company (assuming your worth the buzz).

And when you are nice to other people, you get a gold star for the day, too.

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported The Power of Video! It was great to see a good mix of consultants and videographers (in fact one bridal consultant joined WEVA so she could stay current with our industry). Thank you to Sandy B. for promoting this and for the great turn-out of Houston videographers who gave up their beautiful, sunny afternoon. I saw schmoozing going on and business cards getting exchanged. One videographer commented to me, "It's better for me if other videographers don't get the importance of networking and coming out to meetings like these." The catering manager was even giving tours of the soon to be complete new ballroom overlooking the lovely outside pool with waterfalls (catering managers are another important link in the networking chain). I loved my time in Houston and a special shout-out to the Dials!! You Texans give hospitality a whole new meaning!

Sorry if I'm late to this party but... how does this WEVA initiative help people in other markets?

I got the email from weva and read their bulletin but it doens't seem like it's helpful to me...

Thanks,
Scott
