Transitions.. Can't Post

Does anyone know how to "fade to white" or use a "flash" looking transition? I use Adobe Premiere

Jennifer,
Go FILE>NEW>COLOR MATTE and then change the color to white and save it. You now have a white clip (just like the black video clip) and you can fade in and out with it by putting on top of your video and using the rubber bands.

Hi Jennifer,
I use FCP but the method should be the same.
Fade: Create a colour matte of the length you want and dissolve into and out of it. Simple. Or you can layer it on top of the cut in the two shots and use opacity to bring the white in and out. Both work.
Flash: Do the same as above but make it 10-15 frames in length. Cut to the white then dissolve out. This creates the feeling of a flash and your eyes compensating to the next shot.
Good Luck,
James
