Hey What kind of amps are you talking about (brand/model) I very rarely make VHS dubs but when I have to, the quality is horrible. I often use my miniDV tape and dub it to VHS but with no amp, the quality is depressing. I use a GL2 as the player and Panasonic AG-2570 VCR Pro Line for Recording... Arkadiusz : I don't know about the dual deck but as Brian mentioned, recording VHS using SVHS cables/inputs makes a big difference. I use an Ocean Matrix Distribution Amp, since I have it set up to make up to 10 copies at once. It was really easy to set up and well worth the cost to be able to duplicate my own tapes for other events, such as Dance Recitals, Graduations, etc. At the time I couldn't afford enough VCR's with S-Video input/output so I bought the BNC connector OM unit with converter cables to connect to the RCA inputs on the VCR's. My output/master VCR does have S-Video output, which helps. Actually, it does a pretty good job, much better than RCA to RCA. The RCA to RCA connection dubbing with no amp badly deteriorates a VHS copy.
