In Vegas, for my fully edited package, I open 4 new projects. Ceremony Reception Highlights Full Wedding I drop the first tape on the timeline of the ceremony project, and: Cut/paste all of the pre-ceremony footage over to the highlights project. Cut paste the reception footage off the end of that first tape over to the reception project. I edit the ceremony video, only incuding a few establishing shots of the church and guests being seated. (Long form.) Render it to AVI with chapter markers. I edit the reception video. (Long form.) Render it to AVI with chapter markers. I edit the Highlights last, using the pre-ceremony footage, copying and pasting scenes from the first two edited projects. I pull the vows portion straight from the ceremony AVI. My highlights videos are about 10 minutes long. Render it to AVI with chapter markers. Take all 3 AVI files, and drop them onto the timeline of the "full wedding" project. Re-insert the chapter markers. Make a note of which chapter marker is at the beginning of each of the three segments...for use when making a basic menu in DVDA (Ceremony, Reception, Highlights) Render to a single MPG using the DVDA template, adjusting bit rate for longer projects if necessary. Render to stereo AC3. I make a simple meny page in DVDA, with a background image from the video. Drop entire MPG/AC3 onto project. B&G name + date for title, with a link to ceremony, reception (using "empty button"), and highlights (using "empty button"). That's pretty much it. I shoot pretty conservatively, and rarely have more than two 60 minute tapes from my main camera, and one 90 minute tape from my unmanned balcony cam. My goal is to make the best video I can for my clients, while doing it as efficiently as possible, and keeping my overhead as low as possible. My $1499 price leaves very little room for experiments in creativity...some call it "cookie cutter"...I call it experience. Good luck, Joe!
