What has to be the world's cheapest videographer....	Can't Post

I'm not posting the actual site simply because this person doesn't need to be flooded with traffic, but check this out....while it is free enterprise and everyone can do as they please, this is just pathetic...supposedly been in business for several years, too...

rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, prep, ceremony, and reception coverage
delivery on 5 standard dvd's and 2 blue-ray dvd's (more are free)
ceremony has 5 camera coverage
full wedding converted to ipod
unlimited time during the day
travel included
10% off if booked outside of 12-months
10% off if a knottie
100-photo montage
love story interview / highlight
bride video model shoot
projection of montage and love story at event
additional blue-ray dvd's at $20 each

all for a whopping $1195

so, so sad.

It is a lot to offer but what we are missing is the amount of years in business and most importantly the location he/she/they work in. Location is very important in what you can charge for wedding videos regardless of how good you are at wedding video.

While you may be right about the market but no one can stay in business long for those prices and all that coverage. THere is just too much work involved to create all that stuff for that price. If this is a primary business they will be gone pretty quick. Even in the most depressed market out in the boonies 300 miles from civilization you can't sustain a business at that price for that much work.

Now if it is a person doing it on the side for fun money that is a different story. In that case they are just stupid or don't care.

Alabama, I believe. I don't want to flood this person's website traffic, and am not negating, but to offer so much for so little, particularly in this case, makes no sense to me.

Go ahead... make fun of me. How do you know I don't charge $3k for shipping? And god help the bride that gives me extra photos for her montage. ($400 each).

I bet there are some "gotchas" in the small print, such as:

Includes one hour of coverage; additional hours $500 each. Wink

or

Knottie brides booking more than 12 months in advance do not really get 20% off. They only get 19%. Sly

I had to quit doing that, because their neighbors might get my license plate#. Now I just mail the DVD's with a phony return address, so they can't find me afterwards.

Is it possible that this person simply does not know that their price is too low for the amount of coverage and what is included?

Maybe you should invite this person to join VU and learn about pricing and so on.

Hey, yesterday I booked a wedding video for $450+tax. Laugh

But, at least it allowed me to finally get the rent paid, albeit 4 days late, with enough money left over for a pork butt and a dozen eggs. Laugh
