Wide Angle recommendation for A1? Can't Post

I am looking for a wide angle for my A1. I have read so far that the canon .7 is probably the best but I am looking for something a bit wider and lighter for glidecam use. Maybe a .5. Anyone have any suggestions?

I am wondering about this as well. The big down side to the canon is the weight.

The Von Lanken's sell a Raynox which is 17.1 ounces. Still only 0.79x

I've used a WA with the A1 and I don't like it. It blocks the device which allows for Instant AF and unless you spend a ton of money for a zoom through, it will severely limit your capabilities.

Have either of you done any research on what they go for? I'm not quite ready to dump mine, but I have the 2000 and 150 that are going to have to go fairly soon.

I might be in luck. I told my brother I was going to upgrade before the end of the year and his church might be interested.

Anthony's went for $1060. He had a nice little bundle. I am hoping to get $1000 for my VX2000.

Thanks Brian. I just needed some sort of reference when I approach them. If it's like a lot of other things ... it's not going to be in their budget. However, they just built a church with a light and sound system to make any theatre envious. Maybe they'll surprise me?

Thanks for the information. My 150 has just recently gone to the factory and had a few items replaced, so it should be in pretty good shape.

(Sorry to go so far off topic.)

Thanks for the info Darrell. The one I just posted a link to looks like it might not block the auto focus sensor. ( I hope).

But no zooming. I guess you can't have everything.
