charge for editing alone Can't Post

how do you folks determine this? hourly? amount of raw footage to go through? flat rate?
I have a potential client who, unfortunately, did not have her wedding video completed - videographer, for whatever reason, did not edit the video and just handed them the raw footage.
*message to all you aspiring videographers: once you start charging for your hobby work it now becomes a business...please spend just as much time, if not more, learning how to run a business as you do learning how to get your white balance right (something I recently learned : ) )

Hi Al,
It's different for everyone. I would probably ask how much footage there is and give the client a firm quote. If it were me with the footage and I needed editing I'd rather get that than an open ended 'let me see how long it takes' answer, you know?
