Dang, for that price , htye should have included a Blu-Ray burner. I'd shop around a bit.

Hi Don,

Are you looking at this laptop from The DV Shop in Atlanta? We were just there Monday and I looked at a laptop they had there that sounds like what you have described. Their laptop was great looking and should be an HD editing beast.

I got a tour of their facility and was very impressed. They really know what they are doing.

Sounds decent! Just watch out for battery life....I had a 1Beyond system several years ago that was so powerful that the battery lasted about 20 minutes; I think it was a 9W, too. Needless to say, it was plugged in more than it was portable. Heck of a system, though.

Hi Don,

No, I have other priorities at the moment, but it looked like a great machine. I thought the one I saw had a Bluray burner.

It looks like a good option for something that always is plugged into the wall and sitting on a desk. For SDEs, this is probably realistic.

Where does it get serviced? That is the one thing I really like about Dell's warranty coverage...they send someone to your house and repair it right there. I am guessing they would even send someone to another location (eg. a church or reception hall). That could be really helpful.
