fixing dark grainy footage? Can't Post

I have groom prep footage from a 1 chip camera that is kind of grainy and dark, what is the best way to fix the footage? I made the clip B&W, applied a slight blur and adjusted the levels a little, is there anything else that works well?

What editing software do you use? I'll play with the color as much as possible, add some extra saturation, blur it out a bit, and then place the same track without the effect work on top of this one with an opacity of about 20%. It works okay, but it depends on the footage....I always love the candle-light only routines and even with great cameras, there's only so much you can do.

I have ulead media studio pro, adobe premiere pro, and after effects, instead of dealing with color i decided to make it black and white

high contrast works best. you won't see grain in the whites and the bright colors, only in the blacks. So when you color correct it, drop the black level as far as you can before you start losing detail in the faces. Then boost the mids up to bring back some detail and saturate that MF'er.
