glidecam Can't Post

I was thinking about investing in a glidecam. Would appreciate any input as to your experiences using one and any recommendations as to what model to get. I'll be using a vx2000 with it. Thanks...

I have used a Glidecam V-8 with a TRV900 (and all of the V-8's provided weight plates) but have felt that the additional weight of a VX2000 would be ideal for it. I haven't had a reason to reset the rig to try it yet, but I expect good results.
For a VX2000, I would stay away from any of the handheld Glidecam models unless you have arms of steel.

Excuse me if this is a silly question. But, what exactly is a glidecam used for? What kind of shoots or applications does it have? Any more info is appreciated.

Alan, I am using the Glidecam 2000 Pro with my VX2000. I have it fitted with a quick release shoe and use it for the wedding recessional. When you're walking backwards down the aisle it gives a VERY smooth look to the footage. I also use it at the reception to move around the couple during slow dances. As previously stated, with the canon WD-58 wide-angle lens and a 960 battery the whole rig is very heavy foe one hand but for short clips it does an EXCELLENT job and the glide effect is great.

This unit is better that glidecam products, but of course more money, but check them out. I have one and like it. Sory I don't love things unless they have a pulse.

I have a 2000, and have been getting pretty good results. I'll actually goes as far as to provide a link to some footage I have shot using it. (down the page, the pictures of the glidecam and the steadicam jr)
I haven't used any other system and I would be very interested to see footage of any system.
