need new quick release head & tripod for glidetrack? Can't Post

Dean has been using his glidecam and as each wedding passes, he is more and more confident and comfortable. I recently got the glidetrack and used it for the first time yesterday. I need a bit more practice to feel more comfortable and get the smoother motion that I feel it can, but still I didn't do to bad. One thing I know is that I need a sturdier tripod and another quick-release head to make it easier for me,
So this is a general question to ask, in your opinion, what do you think is the best tripod & quick release head? I'm expecting it to be approx USD$1000.

I love my Bogen 3246 Tripods with the 403 head. I also use an a ball leveler between the head and the tripod. It allows you to have a level head even if the legs aren't level.

Thanks Kenneth,

I've done a search and many people here like the manfrottos. I see many don't have/use a speader, but I like the spreader on it and checked it out at B&H. This would suit my needs for the glidetrack - I think.

I'm curious if there is a reason for so many not using a spreader, which I would've thought would be esier to pull up and out...(my question is answered in members).
