question for iDVD3/OSx users Can't Post

When I create a project, it makes one project file icon. My previous version of iDVD made a folder with the project file icon and other project files and media. My question is: where are the other project files/media located now? Where do I find them to delete them after I'm finished with a project? Or does just deleting the one project file icon delete everything?
Thanks...velma

Re: question for iDVD3/OSx users Can't Post

Velma,
I create a folder specifically for the DVD I am working on for iDVD to compile
the actual project. The master I movie I export from FCP is usually located
on the project drive it was captured on, along with any pictures or audio files.
Your raw media is left wherever you have imported it from. If you let iDVD
create the project (encode the whole wedding) then trash the raw data off your
drives, it will ask you to relocate it. So, you may just want to make the folder
for iDVD on the drive with all the media. then, burn as many copies as needed
(including one for yourself) then trash it. If the client wants another, you can
always copy the one you have stashed away. I hope this helps.

Hi,
Control click on the project file and select Show Package Contents. Everythings in there but Apple chose to 'dumb down' the file by making you select that to see what's in there. Another way to 'clear out' the encoded files is to go to the iDVD3 preferences and check the 'delete encoded files' box before you close the project. Just remember to uncheck it if you don't want to throw out the encoded files of another project - the prefs are global, i.e. not specific to each project...

Joel...
Thanks....so all the media files are contained in that one file icon. That makes sense, because I couldn't find them anywhere else. Thanks again for the ALWAYS useful help!
