I have been selling on ebay for over 4 years now. You won't find a better market tool then ebay. The reason they want your information is to verify you are who you say you are and also to set up billing proceedures. There are many people that are out to fraud people by selling items they don't actually have or misleading people into paying for something and sending them something else. Ebay does a lot of verification and for that we are gratefull. You are also responsible for seller's fees which they can either bill your card or you can send in a payment. Over 4 years, I was only ripped off once, after paying for an item and not receiving anything. After contacting ebay, they were very helpfull in giving me the seller's information (once I proved I was being ripped off, they won't give your info, even email address, to anyone else). I was able to call this person at his home (turned out to be a 16 yr. old kid) and settle everything. I received my package 4 days after that.
