repeating clips? Can't Post

do any of you use the same clips from different sections, say you use the same clip from preceremony used in the highlights...

sure, why not? there are no rules with what we do - you do as you feel best to illustrate your capabilities and your clients wishes.

I'll use some shots in prep, finale, trailers....whatever works.

Sometimes, yes. And if I do then I'll make it black and white or do some other treatment to it so it seems like a different clip.

Always. I'll just line up the edited ceremony and reception avi's and pull out various clips for the highlights.

Absolutely! YOu should always be using your best angle. You should never use the B roll just because the A shot is used somewhere else in the video. The art of the highlight clip is not showing clips they haven't seen elsewhere in the video - it's about weaving all the best shots that show the emotion and tell the story of the day.

Yes. I'll do something to change it up a bit. Either changing the look and coloring, extending the clip a little longer, or changing the speed.
