the new JVC camera Can't Post

I went to a local videographers association meeting last night, and they had some guys from JVC there to demonstrate and show off that new camera (DR-DV5000) that someone posted about earlier. It was AWESOME! I'm going out this morning and take out a home equity loan so I can make a down payment on one.

Congratulations, Velma. I like my DV500, and the 5000 is, by all reports, even better.
Don't forget to check the DV5000 forum at http://www.fastforwardclub.com to get tips, tricks, and information from other DV5000 users. There is also a forum for JVC DV equipment in general at http://www.creativecow.net.

Hi Nancy,
I envy you! I'd love to have one. Just remember to factor in all costs - the accessories for 'pro' gear are much more expensive...

DV500 [In reply to] Can't Post

Doug,
How often do you have your camera serviced? I have had mine two years, and have never sent it in.

The lux rating looks even better than the VX2000. Nice camera.

Joel...
whoa...I was joking! There's no way I 1) could afford one of those, and 2)would know what to do with it!
No, my little vx2000 is all I can handle right now, thanks.

That is a very nice camera.. to bad you were joking.
I've actually seen the DV500 used on some of the shows I've done for TNN and ESPN. The DV5000 is supposed to be much better than the DV500. One of the great features, is the ability to record on fullsize DV tapes.

Mike,
Could you shot like you do with a full sized camera? I know you like unusual angles and motion. Maybe I just assumed you used an XL-1/PD150 sized rig...
