video/photog. Can't Post

i have been asked by 2 photographers to join in with them for a combination package for photo/video work. currently they both send me referrals for their video request. have booked most of them. as long as i get the money i want this seems okay, but i'm still new at the business end of this industry. what are the downfalls or comments on this type of arrangement. this board is extremely helpful for us 1st graders.
thanks so much.

If you get on well with them, you don't have anything to lose and you avoid the trouble discussed elsewhere on the board.

Nothing wrong with this arrangement at all. Just make sure you have some mechanism in place to avoid double booking yourself -- there was a thread on that here recently. The photo studio booked a video package, and before they told the videog, he'd also booked the date with another client.

How much does of your money does the photographer get? I would only do this if you are having trouble booking them on your own. Or if the photographer has something to offer you really like. Some photograhers are the exclusive photographer for a certain place. If you really like the place then go for it.

contract, contract, contract. [In reply to] Can't Post

Make sure you have everything spelled out in print. Watch your back. Make sure they can't drop you, once they have learnt to do your work themselves.
