The folks who've noted that Mr. Seven Cams probably uses small cameras planted all around the church are, I'll bet, right on the money. If I were doing something like this, I would also do it live switched. I'd build me two trunks, one to hold all the cameras, and one to hold the switcher and a bank of LCD monitors. I'd wire up the church a couple hours prior to the event, and I'd sit at the switcher and work that T-bar like a video game console. At the end, I'd have a ceremony all edited and ready to go. Next, I'd take one camera to the reception, and shoot it with doing as much of the editing "in camera" as possible in mind. That is, I'd pick my shots, and not take any extraneous footage. The reception would be almost ready to go as soon as I finished shooting. Back at the studio, I'd use a linear editing system and a character generator. I'd use the CG to make a couple of simple titles, then lay down the finished ceremony, then the reception tape, then a credit roll. Four hours and done. Aside from the equipment costs, it's possible to make money like this...maybe not enough for a full time living, but a nice supplemental income. The only problem is that the finished product will have pretty low production values. Regards, Doug Graham Panda Productions
