The AG-DVC15 camera/recorder places digital picture quality and easy convenience into an extremely mobile package. Designed for professional usage, this featherweight unit uses a large-diameter lens and 3-CCD image sensor to deliver the high recording quality that advanced applications demand.
Its light weight and shoulder-type design ensure excellent mobility and stable shooting, while a number of manual functions offers full creative control.
An IEEE1394 (Firewire) terminal lets you upload images to a PC and digitally dub onto a DV recorder. If needed, you can also add high-performance options like a wide-angle conversion lens and large-capacity, long-lasting battery, for even more versatile field use.
3-inch Color LCD Monitor
The 3-inch LCD monitor rotates a full 270 degrees for convenient low-angle, high-angle, and self recording, as well as easy menu setting.
Manual Audio Settings
XLR-type audio input terminals (line/mic switchable) are located on the rear panel, allowing CH1 and CH2 audio to be switched separately to either line or front mic input. Separate audio level meters and dials let you set the recording level independently for each channel, a handy function for interviews and narration.
New Shoulder-Type Design
The AG-DVC15 is built for professionals on the move. It weighs only 5.51 lbs. (2.5kg) in full operating condition and features a new shoulder-type design that assures shooting stability. Its large grip makes the unit easy to hold and a 1/2-inch color viewfinder provides comfortable use in almost any position.
Sensational 3-CCD Picture Quality
The AG-DVC15's 3-CCD camera section matches the high performance of the VTR section. A large light-collecting area for each of the 270,000 pixels gives the camera a high S/N ratio, outstanding sensitivity, and wide dynamic range. Double-density pixel distribution and a gapless dichroic prism help assure razor-sharp images with extremely faithful colors. Even subtle differences between lighter and darker reds are clearly distinguished.
Superior Digital Recording
The AG-DVC15 uses the DV format, with an 8-bit digital compression recording system that delivers professional-quality pictures. Its advanced error correction function virtually eliminates dropouts and improves recording reliability. Using conveniently small mini-DV cassettes, it offers a recording time of up to 123 minutes (on the AY-DVM83XB mini-DV Master videotape, LP mode).
PCM Audio
The DV format's 16-bit digital audio system rivals CDs in quality. Choose PCM sound in either a 48-kHz/16-bit, 2-channel, or a 32- kHz/12-bit, 4-channel mode during recording. The AG-DVC15 is also equipped with built-in stereo microphones and accepts external microphones.
Manual Focus, Manual Iris and More
The large-diameter focus ring offers a professional level of focusing precision. An assortment of manual functions - including Gain Up (0/+3/+6/+9/+12dB), Manual Iris and ND Filter (1/8 ND) - provides the flexibility for truly creative shooting.
IEEE1394 DV In/Out Terminal
An IEEE1394 (Firewire) 4-pin digital interface terminal on the rear panel makes it easy to upload images and audio to a Macintosh or Windows-based PC for non-linear editing with no loss of quality. You can also dub with no quality loss between the AG-DVC15 and an AG-DV1000/DV2000 or other DV VTR.
Professional Options
A variety of additional options are available with the AG-DVC15. Add a 0.7x wide conversion lens (AG-LW4307), stereo microphones, or large-capacity 2.8 Ah/7.2 V battery (CGP-D28A/1B) to meet your particular needs.
