check out the new verison of Squeeze 5.00. It is supposed to offer both Mpeg 2 and H264

I followed Ken Stones artile once it hit the compressor section to create a preset. worked like a champ for me.....coupled with the combined encoding of 2 macpros it took about 20 minutes for a 2 hour movie file.
