I haven't worked with HDV footage that much, so I'm a bit frustrated on how to get footage from my CF card into FCP X. I was under the impression that X just imported directly, regardless of the source. X tells me that it cannot import the footage. Do I have to change the files to Prores before editing them?

What is the proper workflow. I'm shooting at 1080i ... no special presets or anything like that.

Any help would be appreciated.
