television
I teach at a middle school in rural northern California. Last month we started a closed-circuit television station on campus. We have an old camcorder and an older camera for studio work. We come out of a computer with the ATI "All in Wonder" video card and use that computer and PowerPoint for credits and such. We have a digital camera and use those images in PowerPoint for presentations with still images.
We mix with an MX-1 which is quite a piece of machinery. We have a Canon Hi-8 for dubbing in school events. Everything but the taping of events is done live, but then, we do the voice over those videos live as we show them. There is definitely a feeling of what production back in the '50's must have been like.
Our next step is to add a teleprompter. We want to improve the appearance of our news casts. Anyone have any good suggestions? We also will produce a video yearbook next year. ANY good suggestions or sources of ideas for that would be appreciated. Thanks,
Richard

I think you might appreciate the teleprompter kit in our bookstore. It's been popular with schools because it has
professional features for a couple hundred dollars.
Click the Bookstore heading at the top menu.
I've also written an article about using teleprompters. The article is in the Free Libary. Let me know if you have questions.
I used a teleprompter on a shoot just last week.
