How to do credits in FCP? Can't Post

Anyone know a good way to do a text crawl (for credits) in Final Cut Pro 3?
I have tried using the built in text crawl, but the text looks bad. When you look at it frame by frame, the edges of the text appear to flicker.
Any ideas?

I know what you mean about the flicker.....I do my credits in photoshop.....then I just keyframe them.

make sure if you are using a White or light color that the 3 values are no greater than 235.

Rob,
Tried your suggestion, and that didn't change a thing...the text still flickers.
Any other ideas?

Hi,
I seem to remember a 'How To' on PS credits but I couldn't find it on Ken Stone's site or the 2-pop archives. What is your procedure, i.e. canvas size, dpi etc.?
Thanks!

Try changing speed. the scanning and interlacing of NTSC causes jitter at certain speeds. There are a few "magic" speeds that create smooth slow motion.

I just give the text a 0.5 Gaussian blur and de-interlace. It is solid as a rock.

My procedure? I don't know if it's over kill or not, but I set my canvas size to 720X whatever (1000's) depends on the credit length. I use 300 dpi (always). I'm not a real pro with PS...I learn something new just about everytime I use it.

Thanks Jeff,
Man, a Photoshop file at 300dpi looks fantastic. Much better than the FCP text and even better than Boris. Loooong render though, especially when used as an overlay....
