Manfrotto 682 Can't Post

Anyone using the Manfrotto 682 self-standing monopod with their video camera? I believe it holds up to 22 pounds so figured should be strong enough. If so, what type of heads can this monopod use? Manfrotto's site shows only 3 heads, but not sure if others will work as well.

I use one occassionaly with PD150's. I have a very old head I think is a Bogen, it's from my still days back in the early 70's that I made work on the pod. I like the action of the head so that's why I use it. When I use the Pod it's fine but I don't use it all the time.

be careful using it. if you are not on a hard surface, it sways. It is picky for
movement, but it sure beats luggin around a big ole pod.

Yes, it has a double threaded screw. if you are trying to attach a head with a
smaller than normal thread, the lip of the big one pushes down to reveal
another size.

How steady is it? Would it be okay for the ceremony coverage?

I used it yesterday. Was in the 4th pew back got the processional & ceremony using the 682. I also used a LANC controller so I wouldn't have to touch the camera as the monopod can have some sway to it. I kept it as low as I could and used the LCD on the cam and it worked fine. I've done this type of thing before depending on the ceremony and the venue.

So I suppose it works out nice that it'll fit between the pews where a tripod wouldn't?
What LANC controller would you recommend?

Yeah, I put out the feet and with the old tripod head I have on the monopod I follow the bride to the handoff.
As long as I'm very careful I leave the monopod out into the aisle slightly so I'm not shooting the back of someones head and just use the LCD on my 150. I've been using the Varizoom Stealth with the 150's I know there's a little issue about controlling the speed of the zoom, but I'm not doing a lot of zooming anyway, I use it for focus AND mostly, so I don't have to touch the camera or monopod and possibly cause some shake.
BTW, I'm only doing this method when I would be relagated to some obscure corner by the officiant. Most of them know me and as long as I'm not making an idiot of myself they are OK with my doing this. I do have a 2nd camera running for safety and I follow the ceremony, stand and sit as appropriate. That way, it's like I'm a guest who just happens to have a very nice camera, monopod and wireless receiver.
