The only catch is finding the exact footage you need. Of course there are stock footage houses and researchers who will do the work for you, but they can be expensive even though the videos are in the public domain. Why pay $30 a second to buy this footage through a stock footage house when you can buy the same footage directly from the government for as little as $40 for an entire 10 – 20 minute video!!! Since these films and videos were all produced with taxpayer money, 99% of them are in the public domain.
