Your Corporate Producers material helped me to bid & close this 1.5 hr training video. So your teleprompter will get a work out too.

VideoUniversity Forum Guidelines

The mission of these forums is to share knowledge, promote understanding and build a community of film and video friends. These VideoUniversity Forums are free to read and search. Many people have started profitable businesses just from spending time on these forums. With over 425,000 searchable messages, these forums offer a great body of knowledge and it is all searchable.

However, to stop spam, trolls and other problems of open forums, we now require registration with full name and address. For renewing members you may use the user name you have been using. Or you can choose a new user name and register that. For new members you can choose a user name that is not taken, but you must provide your name and address. Start by signing into the forums.

Your name and address is only visible to the management of Oak Tree Press. No one else has access to it. Registration now requires a once-a-year fee of $25.00 (only 7 cents a day). Renewal is not automatic. You can also register for two years for only $40 (only 5 cents a day). If you need help, send me an email or call me at 401 253 2800.

As before when you register, you will receive an automatic email from videouniversity. Set your spam filters to accept this email or you will not be able to post.

It’s clear that this registration policy has made the forums better for everyone. While there are many benefits of joining the forums, one of the most popular is the private “Members Only” forum which is included in the subscription price. Only members can see this forum and its posts. It is invisible to the outside world and the search engines. By popular demand we also made the very funny Off-Topic forum to be private as well.

No Commercial Advertising except in the Trading Post, please!

All commercials ads should go in Our Trading Post forum. These forums are made possible from advertising and sales from our online store. Therefore we do not allow links to competing products or sites. If you have a question, please contact Hal first.

Forum Etiquette:

These are common sense guidelines you should follow when using the forum.

Search First:

These forums have their own powerful search system which is separate from the search system for the VideoUniversity pages! Before you post, visit our search page. Try limiting the forums you are searching to the most appropriate forum. If you have too many results, try limiting the date to the last 6 months.

Stay on Topic or Start a new Thread:

Stick to the original author’s question when replying. If you are straying off into a new topic, start a new thread for it. Be the bigger person and don’t reply to off topic posts.

Be patient:

Give new users some slack, don’t chastise them for not reading this guideline first. Make them feel welcome in the community. We were all newbies once. Avoid sarcasm, it’s often lost in the post and just ends up being rude.

Be Nice and have fun!

If you have questions about any of this, please feel free to drop me a private message.

Cheers,
Hal
