Welcome to the New and Improved VideoUniversity Forums! It’s the same software, just an updated version that we’ve been tweaking. We listened to your suggestions and implemented as many as we could. Most of the functions work just like the old one, but better.

I’ve been testing it here’s what I think you should know:

To see all the forums, Click “Home”. It’s on the left of the gray nav bar that reads Home Settings Messages etc.

To make a post, you click the “New Thread” button on the left just under the name of the forum you are in. If you don’t see the “New Thread” button, you are probably not in a forum. Click one of the forums, then proceed.

Each post has the normal Edit, Delete, Quote, Reply and to the right of a post is a symbol for “Report This Post.” There’s also a Star symbol to mark the post as a favorite. This is a handy way to keep track of posts that helpful or meaningful to you. Favorites applies only to posts, not people.

To edit your user profile, go to Settings.

This newer software supports Chrome and other new browsers.

When you click on a username, you now have the option to mark that person as a “buddy”. You can also hide a user’s posts. You can also block PMs from a user.

When you write an email or a message, there’s a spell checker.

The quote function in writing a post seems to work right.

The Privacy Tab in Settings is where you can unhide posts from a user you had set to hide posts.

You will now receive an email reminder 7 days before your VU Forum subscription expires.

You can now upload photos to our server. The maximum size is 62.6 KB. Use the picture symbol above the post area.
