Simplifilm.com produces motion graphic videos as book trailers and app demos. According to one source this is a million dollar video business. They have a great looking website with samples and a blog. Their blog posts were originally written to explain their process to potential clients, but then they discovered that most of their customers came from just two of their blog posts.

One was about writing a script; the second was about choosing a VO narrator, both were aimed, not at video producers, but at their potential business clients. Their most popular post was on a third topic, but that one didn’t convert prospects to customers like the other two.

Chris Johnson, one of the two partners, says those two posts were just an accident. The posts are http://simplifilm.com/writing-software-demo-script/ and http://simplifilm.com/voice-over/.

He says “These posts bring in tens of thousands of dollars, and when people Google the phrases that we own, we win. Our total search traffic is fallen some, because of neglect, but these posts are more than enough to keep us busy.”

The site gets about 6,000 visitors a month. Their videos get about 10,000 video views which is considered modest traffic, but it’s enough to make this a seven-figure business that is growing quickly.

Are you regularly blogging helpful posts aimed at your target market? It’s good for business. Think about the questions your clients ask. What do they want to know about their video? These are the topics to blog about.
